Coming 2026 · Enterprise reseller

Amazon Leo is coming to SADC.

The constellation you knew as Project Kuiper has a permanent name and its first enterprise customers. ZODSAT is preparing to deliver Amazon Leo to Zimbabwe and the region — same local installation, NOC and billing you already get from us.

Where the programme stands

From code name to commercial service

First production launch

27 satellites on an Atlas V from Cape Canaveral; all establish contact with Amazon's ground network.

Project Kuiper becomes Amazon Leo

Permanent brand announced with three customer terminals: Leo Nano, Leo Pro and Leo Ultra. Public waitlist opens.

Enterprise beta

Beta service live with telecoms, airlines and government partners in the US and Europe. Commercial availability targeted for mid-2026.

SADC availability

Regional timing depends on Amazon's rollout and local licensing. ZODSAT holds the waitlist and will contact you the moment service opens.

Programme milestones are published by Amazon; regional availability will be confirmed by ZODSAT and the regulator. Nothing on this page is a service commitment until your order is accepted.

Terminals

Three sizes, one waveform.

All three run Amazon's custom silicon and share the same protocol stack — from a Kindle-sized portable to a gigabit enterprise array.

Honest comparison

Leo and Starlink, side by side

ZODSAT sells both. Starlink is live today across Zimbabwe and the region; Amazon Leo is the second constellation we're bringing to market. Here's how they line up.

Who should register interest

Built for enterprise first

Enterprise & government

Gigabit fixed sites, secure field communications, diverse routing alongside existing Starlink or fibre.

Telecom backhaul

Connect cell towers where fibre is impractical — a second LEO path for MNO and WISP resilience.

Maritime & aviation

Leo Nano and Pro terminals for vessels and aircraft; Ultra for ports and hubs.

Disaster response

Rapid-deploy connectivity when ground infrastructure fails — kits staged with ZODSAT for fast dispatch.
